Local businessmen Mohammed Al-Hamouri and Hasan Fahridin, who donated a bulk order of beautiful kuffiyehs from the Hirbawi factory in Hebron for sale at this year’s festival, thus helping our fundraising efforts as well as supporting the Palestinian economy and culture.
Eleni Alexious, a Leichhrdt-based ceramic artist, who donated several individually-made pottery Handala images on sale at the festival.
The many volunteers who have cooked, cleaned, set up, taken down, taken care of technical challenges, leafleted, promoted and otherwise helped the 2011 festival to happen!
We’d especially like to thank the wonderful and in many cases courageous photographers who donated their work for this year’s exhibition. These include (in no particular order)
The Alternative Information Centre
Children, Play and Education
Palestine Solidarity Project, Beit Ummar
Mika Ginsburg/Machsom Watch
Christian Peacemaker Teams
RGB Digital, who provided the excellent quality large-scale prints for the photography exhibition, and were delightfully helpful – a joy to work with.
The Festival of Friendship would be a much smaller event without the many stallholders who offer their wares on the day and who help us to raise money for our kindergartens. In 2011, these include:
Leichhardt Friends of Hebron
Coalition for Justice & Peace in Palestine
Inner West Permaculture
Tribes & Nations Fairtrade coffee
