Only a week to go –  our third exciting Festival of Friendship on Saturday, 23 June, 2012, is almost here. The programme of events is now ready for your to download, just click on the link:  FoH-Festival Program-23Jun2012

Our event celebrates the sumud (steadfastness) of the people of Hebron with a full day of fabulous activities in Leichhardt Town Hall.

The theme of our new photo-exhibition is Steadfastness. It features recent photos and media articles from Palestine.

Drop in for brunch from 12 o’clock and stay for the music, the forum, the film and of course our great coffee and delicious home-cooked food. Best to put the day aside as we run from lunchtime until 8pm. Stay much longer than that and you’ll be roped in to help us clean up!

This year’s Festival will include a forum between 3-5pm on exploring the issue of apartheid in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Join our distinguished and knowledgeable panel, including Randa Abdel-Fattah, Ghassan Hage, and Kolin Thumbadoo, and moderator Antony Loewenstein, as they examine the notion of Israel as an apartheid state. You can find more information about the forum here.

Stay after the forum to hear some fantastic live Arabic music and then settle in for the Australian premiere of the film “Roadmap to Apartheid” at 6pm. You can find more information about the film here.
